To achieve the best results. We went through a lot of different variations with it.

Performance vs Graphics

We face a lot of hard decision during the development. We all love good looking graphics, but we also want our game to run smoothly and be accessible to every single one of you. There we end up trading between better performance in our game and better looking graphics.

Best method

What we end up using are metaballs. Unfortunately the classic approach requires a lot of resources from the GPU. With little to no resources on the web we went though a lot of back and forth with this approach.
